The Dip
I have the blogging blues. On two occasions I have spent time creating a response and attempted to publish, only to have my thoughts disappear into cyberspace. I have heard that every change comes with an implementation dip-- a time of struggle and frustration that makes one want to abort the change. I am not going there, but I do need some guidance on how to avoid such catastrophes. My time is limited and a response disappearing into cyber oblivion is quite annoying. Help and encouragement is needed (as it always is when one is experiencing "the dip").

someone once told me that in terms of computers/technology the questions isn't "if" it's "when" regarding a breakdown of some sort. what i sometimes do is before i hit the 'post comment' button i highlight my comment and 'copy' it, just in case there is a posting problem. that way, if i have to go back i just have to 'paste' it. it seems like one of the several fail safes i used. we all have technology scars, some bigger and more tramatic than others, and don't want to get burned again.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do the same. Copy just in case cyberspace gobbles it up! :)
ReplyDeletelisten to htate - she knows a little something about cyberspace and gobbling.
ReplyDeleteI've had several emails 'lost in transition'and like you I end up getting frustrated. So now, I compose messages offline and just paste the message to the body area of my outlook, or whatever site I'm using. Like Dan, I also highlight, copy and paste. I think that is the only fail-safe workaround.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice. I WILL PERSEVERE!
ReplyDeletethe frustration of a lost comment pales in comparison to the up side of the conversation that occurs.
ReplyDeleteYou really got some good advice...I feel the same....I get on the blog in hopes to share..then it disappears.....or, better than that....all of my postings were being done in Hindu!! Imagine that.....that ties into me feelings about the blog becoming a natural part of my daily routint.....I will turn back to the 21 day rule!!
ReplyDeleteHang-in...everything in time
